Objective: To explore and study the clinical efficacy of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) and dexamethasone acetate cream for topical treatment of subacute eczema. Methods A study was conducted on 123 patients with subacute eczema treated in our hospital since August 2005. They were randomly divided into 63 treatment groups and 60 control groups. The control group was simply treated with dexamethasone acetate cream. The treatment group Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) and dexamethasone acetate cream were used alternately for treatment. After the treatment, the treatment results of the two groups of patients were counted and compared. Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.8%, and the total effective rate of the control group was 88.3%; the recovery rate of the treatment group was 50.8%, and that of the control group was 35.0%; the total effective rate of the treatment group was 90.5%, and the total effective rate of the control group was 66.6% , the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The combined external use of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) and dexamethasone acetate cream has significant efficacy in the treatment of subacute eczema and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
