Abstract :Objective: To explore the efficacy of silver ion dressing combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in the treatment of infected wounds of deep second-degree burns. Methods: A total of 149 patients with infected wounds of deep second-degree burns were selected and divided into an observation group (n=75 cases) and a control group (n=74 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin), and the observation group was treated with silver ion dressing on the basis of the control group. The wound recovery-related indicators, wound pain degree, serum inflammatory factors and pain mediator levels, clinical efficacy and scar conditions were statistically compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the infection control time, hospitalization time and wound healing time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group (P<0.05), and the wound healing rate after 21 days of treatment was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The pain scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at each time point after treatment ( P<0.05). After 21 days of treatment, the levels of serum C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, neuropeptide Y, and prostaglandin E_2 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), and the total effective rate of wound healing was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Six months after wound healing, the scores and total score of the Vancouver Scar Scale in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Silver ion dressing combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) can promote wound healing and reduce the pain degree of wounds in the treatment of deep second-degree burn infected wounds, and can effectively inhibit the levels of serum inflammatory factors and pain mediators, reduce the scar degree of wounds, and improve the aesthetic effect of wounds.
