Abstract:ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) and ciprofloxacin ointment in the treatment of bacterial dermatosis for 1 week. Methods 48 cases of bacterial dermatosis including impetigo, folliculitis, onychomycosis and wound infection were enrolled in a randomized, double-blind, parallel group comparative study. Subjects 3 times / d external application of the affected area, the course of treatment for 1 week. After 1 week of treatment, the total score of target skin lesions (TSS) of the experimental group decreased from 15.67±2.28 to 3.25±3.90 before treatment, and the improvement rate of symptoms and signs was (79.90±24.21)%; the total score of the control group decreased from 14.71±2.90 to 3.38±2.62 before treatment, and the improvement rate was (76.44±19.40)%. Clinical efficiency was 83.33% in the test group and 75.00% in the control group. The bacteriologic clearance rate was 83.33% in the test group and 91.67% in the control group. The combined clinical and bacteriologic efficacy evaluation showed that the total effective rate was 75.00% in the test group and 70.83% in the control group. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of clinical efficacy, bacteriological efficacy and overall efficacy. It is concluded that Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) is similar to ciprofloxacin ointment, which is safe and effective in the treatment of bacterial skin diseases.
