Abstract : Objective To explore the effect of adjuvant treatment with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) on the eczema area and severity index (EASI) and the incidence of adverse reactions in children with atopic dermatitis (AD). Methods This study used the random number table method to divide 80 children with AD admitted to Jiangxi Children's Hospital from January 2020 to September 2023 into an observation group and a control group, with 40 cases in each. The control group received desonide cream treatment. On this basis, the observation group received adjuvant treatment with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin). The clinical efficacy, EASI score, eosinophil levels, inflammatory factor levels, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. and recurrence rates. Results The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (95.00% vs 80.00%, P0.05), and the difference was not statistically significant . The recurrence rate of the control group was higher than that of the observation group (18.75% vs 2.63%, P<0.05). Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) has a significant clinical effect on children with AD. It can effectively reduce the area of eczema, alleviate the severity of eczema, reduce the total EASI score, improve eosinophil levels, promote recovery, and has good safety. rate is lower.
