Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) in the repair of burn infection wounds in children. Methods Thirty children with burn infection were enrolled. Bacteriological examination showed that Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus were the main bacteria in the wounds (13 cases of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 17 cases of Staphylococcus aureus). They were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group with 15 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment), and the control group was treated with burn moistening ointment. The dressing was changed once a day, and 7 days was a course of treatment. The wound bacterial clearance rate and wound healing rate of the two groups were observed after 2 courses of treatment. Results The wounds of 12 cases were cleared of bacteria in the treatment group (5 cases of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 7 cases of Staphylococcus aureus), and the wounds of 6 cases were cleared of bacteria in the control group (2 cases of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 4 cases of Staphylococcus aureus).
The bacterial clearance rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The number of cases of wound healing improvement was counted. The wound healing rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group. Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) is suitable for the treatment of infected burn wounds in children. It reduces wound infection and improves wound healing rate.
