Impetigo is an acute suppurative skin disease caused by Staphylococcus aureus and/or beta-hemolytic Streptococcus. It is particularly common in children in the summer and is highly contagious, often causing epidemics in nurseries and kindergartens [1]. Our department used Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) to treat impetigo on July 2007/September 2007 and achieved good results.
