To explore the application value of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) in the repair of chronic refractory wounds. Methods: A total of 124 patients with various chronic refractory wounds admitted to our department from January 2014 to December 2014 were selected and divided into Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) treatment group (group A) (n=60) and conventional treatment group (group B) (n=64) by random number method. After routine debridement, the wounds in group A were dressed with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment), while those in group B were dressed with conventional saline and vaseline gauze. A wound of 4.0×4.0 cm in size was selected as the observation area for each patient. The growth of granulation tissue and clinical treatment time of the wounds in the two groups were compared on the 3rd, 10th, 15th and 25th days. Results: Ten days after treatment, the granulation wounds in group A (24.87±0.24) were significantly different from those in group B (18.66±0.45) (P<0.05); the wound healing time in group A (16.17±1.87) was significantly shorter than that in group B (32.71±3.95), which was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) has a broad antibacterial spectrum and high safety, and has a good effect on the treatment of chronic refractory wounds.
