Abstract : Objective To observe the effect of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) on postpartum perineal incision swelling and pain in postpartum women undergoing episiotomy. Methods Parturients who underwent vaginal delivery with episiotomy or straight incision were randomly divided into two groups, with 100 cases in each group. The treatment group was given wet compresses of traditional Chinese medicine on the perineum, and the control group was given regular perineal scrubbing with iodophor. The perineal swelling and pain of the two groups of mothers were observed on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd days after delivery, and the differences were compared. Results: There were significant differences in perineal incision swelling and pain in the treatment group on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd postpartum days compared with the control group (P<0.01), and the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group. Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) has good efficacy in treating postpartum perineal incision pain and swelling.
