Abstract :Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) combined with halometasone cream in the treatment of chronic eczema. Methods A total of 156 patients with chronic eczema admitted from January 2016 to October 2017 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group with 78 cases in each group. The control group was treated with halometasone cream, and the observation group was given Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) on the basis of the treatment of the control group. The therapeutic effect, adverse reactions, recurrence rate, itching disappearance time, and skin lesion disappearance time were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group (96.15%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (85.89%) (P<0.05); the recurrence rate of the observation group (2.56%) was significantly lower than that of the control group (11.54%) (P<0.05); the disappearance time of pruritus and skin lesions in the observation group was (3.51±1.08) d and (12.88±1.37) d, respectively, which were significantly shorter than those in the control group (4.19±1.25) d and (13.73±1.51) d, respectively (P<0.05). Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) combined with halometasone can effectively improve the therapeutic effect of chronic eczema, reduce the recurrence rate, and take effect faster.
