Abstract:In order to compare the clinical efficacy of egg yolk oil and Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) applied externally for the treatment of acute anal fissure, 126 patients with anal fissure admitted to the Department of Anal and Intestinal Surgery of the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from June to September 2016 were randomly divided into 2 groups. Group 1 consisted of 62 patients, who were treated with egg yolk oil, applied externally to the perianal area once/d for 10 d. Group 2 consisted of 64 patients, who were treated with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment), applied externally to the perianal area twice/d for 10 d. The pain condition of the patients in both groups was observed on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th and 10th post-treatment visits, and the pain scores were based on the VAS scoring method. Rectal bleeding was also observed on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th days after treatment. The results showed that the VAS scores of the two groups of patients at the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th day after medication and at the visit after the 10th day were lower in group 2 than in group 1 (P<0.01); the incidence of rectal bleeding in the two groups of patients at the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th day after treatment was also significantly lower in group 2 than in group 1, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The results showed that Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) was more effective than egg yolk oil in the treatment of acute anal fissure.
