Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of epidermal cell growth factor (rhEGF) combined with compound polymyxin B on traumatic scarring in patients with deep II degree burns. Methods 113 cases of deep II degree burn patients admitted to Ankang Central Hospital from January 2017 to January 2018 were selected as the study subjects, and were divided into 56 cases in the observation group and 57 cases in the control group according to the random number table method, all the patients were given routine debridement treatment, and rh EGF was used in the control group for applying traumas, and rh EGF combined with compound polymyxin B was used for applying traumas in the observation group, and the course of treatment was 28 d. Comparison of the two groups of patients after treatment was made, and the effect of epidermal cell growth factor (rhEGF) combined with compound polymyxin B on scarring of the wound was compared with that of the patients after treatment. The two groups were treated with rh EGF combined with polymyxin B. The treatment course of both groups was 28 d. The wound healing, bacterial detection, scar formation, and adverse reactions during the process of medication were compared between the two groups. The drying time [(6.51±2.62) d vs (9.62±3.51) d], healing time [(19.52±3.73) d vs (25.85±5.95) d], and the number of dressing changes [(12.65±5.34) times vs (17.51±6.72) times] were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group. The wound healing rate of patients in the observation group was (95.26±2.37)%, which was significantly higher than that of patients in the control group (83.12±3.65)%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the detection rates of pathogenic bacteria on the wound of deep II burns of patients in the observation group were 17.86%, 12.50 %, 12.50 % and 17.86%, 12.50 %, and 12.50 % respectively, at 7, 14, and 28 days after the use of medication. 17.86%, 12.50% and 5.36%, which were significantly lower than 36.84%, 28.07% and 17.54% in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the modified Vancouver scar scale (VSS) scores of the patients in the observation group and the control group were higher than those of the control group at 28 d after the administration of the drug [(7.25±2.16) vs (8.66±2.54)]. 2.54)], 6 months [(5.38±1.94) vs (7.03±2.11)], 12 months [(3.25±1.02) vs (4.95±1.48)], the observation group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the incidence of traumatic infection in the patients of the observation group was 0, which was significantly lower than that of the control group (8.77%). 8.77%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: rhEGF combined with compound polymyxin B can promote the healing of deep second-degree burn wounds, reduce wound infection, and reduce the formation of scar tissue.
