Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) in the treatment of congenital preauricular fistula infection. Methods A total of 153 patients with congenital preauricular fistula infection and abscess formation were divided into three groups (A, B, and C), with 51 cases in each group. All patients were treated with abscess incision, abscess cavity flushing and drainage, and dressing treatments such as vaseline gauze, erythromycin eye ointment gauze, and Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) gauze were used to fill the abscess cavity in groups A, B, and C, respectively. The healing time of the three groups was compared. Results The healing time of groups A, B, and C was (15.3±2.7), (12.1±2.2), and (8.1±1.9) days, respectively. The differences among the three groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) can significantly shorten the healing time of congenital preauricular fistula infection.
