Abstract :Objective To investigate the effect of nitroglycerin ointment combined with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) on the prognosis of the axillary osmidrosis excision area. Methods Thirty patients with axillary osmidrosis were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 15 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with a mixture of nitroglycerin ointment and compound polymyxin B on the surgical area immediately after surgery and after each dressing change, while the control group was covered with small gauze alone. The color of the flap in the surgical area, the presence of flap necrosis, and the healing of the incision were observed during the dressing change in both groups of patients. The pain level of the patients was recorded and assessed according to the Wong-Baker scale after each dressing change. Results (1) No patients in the experimental group had blackening, purpleness, ulceration, necrosis, or poor incision healing. Two cases in the control group had ischemic necrosis of the flap, and four cases had poor incision healing. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). (2) The postoperative pain level of the patients in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion After axillary osmidrosis excision, the use of a mixture of nitroglycerin ointment and Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) immediately and after each dressing change can not only reduce the probability of complications such as ulcers or necrosis of the flap in the surgical area, but also reduce the degree of pain after surgery.
