Abstract :Objective: To observe the effect of topical application of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) on wound healing, pain and edema after mixed hemorrhoid surgery. Methods: A total of 60 patients with mixed hemorrhoids were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 30 cases in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with Mayinglong Musk Hemorrhoid Ointment to apply to the perianal area, and the patients in the observation group were treated with topical application of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) to apply to the perianal area. The wound healing time, edema at 1d and 7d after surgery, pain at rest and during defecation, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The wound healing time of the patients in the observation group was shorter than that of the control group (P <0.05); the VAS score at rest, VAS score during defecation, edema score, and the incidence of adverse reactions of the patients in the observation group at 7d after surgery were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: The topical application of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) can shorten the wound healing time, relieve postoperative pain, and reduce anal edema in patients after mixed hemorrhoid surgery, and it is highly safe.
